In addition to the experience and qualifications listed here, many of
our people are actively involved in our communities serving as
board-members for various non-profit organizations and charities.
David Cherry (President/Senior Insurance Claims Adjuster) is a native of West Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Texas Permian Basin with a BS degree in Engineering. David started with Permian Claim Service in 1992 as a workers' compensation adjuster specializing in working with self-insureds and governmental entities.
Joe Cooney (Senior All Lines Insurance Claims Adjuster) is a native of West Texas. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University and in the past, served as claim manager for Crawford and Company and Trinity Universal Insurance Group. Joe has been with Permian Claim Service since 1991 and his many years of experience in all phases of claim handling is invaluable.
Sherman Smith (All Lines Insurance Claims Adjuster) is a native of West Texas. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a BBA degree. His basic training was with Employers Casualty Company where he stayed for 12 years. He was also the risk manager for Yale E. Key, Inc., where he received extensive experience in the handling of oilfield equipment and related casualty investigations.
Robert DeWoody (All Lines Insurance Claims Adjuster) attended Stephen F. Austin University and has spent over 24 years in the auto and body repair business. He has worked for Commercial Union Insurance Group, Trinity Universal Insurance Company, and Lindsey and Newsom before joining Permian Claim Service.
All of the above personnel are fully licensed by the State of Texas.
